The arctic kite challenge
Published 09.02.2006
Located in the far northeast corner of Norway, where the sea meets the sky, the Varanger region bathes in the midnight sun and the northern lights.
This is the arena for the arctic kite challenge. After hosting 3 incredibly successful arrangements the organizers was invited to host the Snowkiting world championship for 2006.
Vadsų has perfect conditions for snowkiting. Long winter season and large snowy mountain plateaus combined with lots of wind are the important elements which makes Varanger to one of the best spots in the world for snowkiting.
Here's a video showing the action of previous events and some of the fantastic scenery and lifestyle in the midnight sun. The Arctic Kitechallenge 2006.wmv
Here's an older video from 2004. We made this in collaboration with Stance Magazine The Arctic Kitechallenge 2004.wmv
We are proud to be collaborating with The arctic Kite Challenge as we consider it to be the most interesting and exotic ventures in kiteboarding and snowkiting.
We hope to see our Crownprince Haakon of Norway opening the event as he has been invited to join the fun.
